Grace & Anton’s Holy Trinity Church Wedding

Some love stories begin in the simplest of ways but grow into something extraordinary. For Grace and Anton, it all started in Christchurch, where Grace was studying at university. What began as a connection in a student city has since blossomed into a life together — complete with a home and their beloved dog, Barney.

A Relaxed Wedding Day

When it came time to plan their wedding, Grace and Anton envisioned a day that felt relaxed and genuine. They didn’t want fuss or formality; instead, they wanted a celebration that reflected their relationship — warm, down-to-earth, and filled with the people who matter most.

Their ceremony took place at the Holy Trinity Church in Silverdale, a historic chapel that set a timeless and intimate tone. With its ivy-covered walls and classic charm, it was the perfect setting for their vows.

From there, the celebration continued in the most personal of places — the backyard of Grace’s parents’ home. This setting gave the reception an inviting, family-centered atmosphere, with laughter, conversations, and the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones.

Capturing the Beauty of Simplicity

As their wedding photographer in Auckland, I had the privilege of documenting both the elegance of the church ceremony and the heartfelt intimacy of their backyard reception. From quiet moments between Grace and Anton to candid smiles among their guests, the day was proof that simplicity can be every bit as beautiful as grandeur.

Grace and Anton’s wedding is a reminder that love shines brightest in relaxed, genuine settings. Their choice to pair a historic church with a family backyard reception created the perfect balance of tradition and intimacy.

It’s celebrations like theirs that inspire me in my work as a wedding photographer in New Zealand — where every couple’s day tells a unique story, and every wedding is a chance to capture memories that will last a lifetime.
