Waikato wedding | Hamilton | Cambridge| Henley Hotel
Jane and Pieter
I had the joy of travelling down to Cambridge to capture Jane and Pieter’s wedding at the beautiful Henley Hotel — a celebration of love, family, and faith that was relaxed, joyful, and full of meaning.
The couple feel incredibly lucky to have met at the right time. Four years later, their relationship has blossomed into a partnership grounded in kindness, adventure, and deep affection. Together, they’ve shared great walks, camping trips, bike rides, and road trips. At home, they’ve found just as much joy in movie nights, cooking new dishes, gardening, and working on projects in their first home.
Their families have been a big part of their journey, too. Jane’s siblings are thrilled to welcome a new brother-in-law, and she adores Pieter’s family, including his lovely grandparents. During the very first lockdown, when the two were apart for five weeks, Pieter’s cheeky nana set up two chairs and a picnic lunch on her front lawn so they could "coincidentally" see each other while cycling past — a sweet moment of support for young love that has become part of their story.
A Christian Ceremony
Their Christian ceremony was heartfelt yet simple, led by the pastor from Pieter’s parents’ church. Jane and Pieter wanted the focus to remain on their vows and promises before God, keeping the service under half an hour and true to their personalities.
A Relaxed & Joyful Celebration
The Henley Hotel in Cambridge provided the perfect setting with its elegant gardens, romantic architecture, and peaceful atmosphere. Their theme combined burnt orange, blush pink, and white, carried beautifully through the flowers, invitations, table styling, and bridesmaid dresses. It created a warm, timeless palette that reflected both celebration and intimacy.
One of the highlights of the day was their much-practised first dance. Though a little nervous, Jane and Pieter were excited to share the moment together — a joyful reflection of their teamwork, love, and commitment.
From start to finish, their wedding was everything they had dreamed of: relaxed, deeply meaningful, and full of laughter, family, and the promise of a lifetime together.
For couples looking for Cambridge wedding inspiration, Jane and Pieter’s day at the Henley Hotel is proof that a wedding grounded in love, faith, and simplicity creates the most unforgettable memories.
