Hannah and Todd

There’s something beautiful about a wedding held on family land — a place that already holds years of memories, now layered with a new one: the promise of forever. For Hannah and Todd, their Te Horo wedding was exactly that — relaxed, intimate, and brimming with love.

From a Swipe to Forever

Their story began in July 2019 with a little nudge from Hannah’s girlfriends, who convinced her to download Bumble “just for fun.” With a few carefully chosen photos and a handful of swipes, fate stepped in. Todd appeared on her screen, and her friend Alicia immediately declared, “You’re going to marry that guy one day — I just know it.” She couldn’t have been more right.

Six days later, Hannah and Todd met for their first date. Conversation flowed so easily that their poor waitress had to circle back five times before they were ready to order. Without planning it, they both chose the same meal — pulled pork burgers and apple cider. By the very next day, they were already planning date number two. The spark was undeniable.

Life’s First Test

Not long after, New Zealand went into lockdown. The young couple faced a big question: ride it out separately, or take the leap together? They chose the latter — and it was the beginning of building a life side by side. From flatting together (thanks to Todd’s insistence that Hannah “needed the experience”) to road trips around New Zealand, island getaways, and adventures in Canada and New York, their relationship grew stronger with every shared moment.

In time, they built their first home together. And just before moving in, Todd proposed in Rarotonga. Two months later, they discovered they were expecting their daughter Maeve — the little light of their lives who has only deepened their love and commitment to one another.

The Wedding Day

Fast forward to today: surrounded by the people who matter most, Hannah and Todd’s wedding was everything they dreamed it would be. Held on their family land in Te Horo, the day was simple yet meaningful — relaxed, fun, and intimate. A celebration not just of their love story so far, but of the future they’re building together.

Because sometimes, the right swipe really does lead you home.
