Only a few weeks later, they made it official, beginning a relationship that has grown stronger through their shared love of the simple things in life — from relaxing with their pets Jelly (the cat) and Bean (the dog), to spending time at local beaches and enjoying scenic walks together.
Their wedding day was every bit as personal as their story. Sophie, who studied law and now works as in-house counsel at Hospitality NZ, and Daniel, a project manager with a background in Building Science, brought the same thoughtfulness and care to planning their big day. The result was a celebration that was not just beautiful, but deeply meaningful.

The couple’s beloved dog, Bean, had the honour of being the ring bearer, adding a playful and heartwarming touch to the ceremony. Three flower kids brought extra joy to the aisle, and later in the evening, a photobooth kept guests entertained before everyone gathered outside for a magical sparkler exit in the carpark. These little details made the day feel unique, fun, and truly reflective of Sophie and Daniel’s personalities.
