As a wedding photographer based in Auckland, I absolutely loved capturing Aimee and Franky’s Markovina Estate wedding. Their celebration was everything a couple could dream of — vibrant, vintage-inspired, and full of personality.
When Aimee first described her dream wedding as having a vintage 1950s look, I knew it was going to be something truly special. And she was right — their Markovina wedding was one of the most unique celebrations I’ve ever photographed.
From the moment the day began, it was impossible not to miss the incredible colour palette. Shades of pink — everywhere! From soft blush to bold tones, with a striking touch of red to balance it all, the styling made this wedding completely unforgettable. I had never seen a wedding with that much pink before, and it was absolutely fabulous.
Adding to the fun, two adorable vintage Kombi vans stole the show. Guests couldn’t stop smiling, and Aimee herself was especially excited about them. These quirky details perfectly matched the couple’s vision of a vintage garden party wedding — colourful, fun, and filled with personality.
Aimee and Franky’s love story is simple yet sweet. They caught feelings for each other on their very first date nearly two years ago, and from that moment on, they’ve been inseparable. Their wedding day reflected that same natural connection — joyful, relaxed, and entirely their own.
The morning began with bride preparations at Freshwater Farm Cottages in Muriwai, a serene and picturesque setting, while Franky got ready at the Markovina Estate itself. From there, the celebration unfolded effortlessly, blending heartfelt moments with a lively atmosphere that had everyone laughing, dancing, and soaking in the vibrant details.
